"The Song of Henna" by Laurence Bourthoumieux - Hermès Square Scarf 100% Silk Muslin 90CM

Originating in Mesopotamia or Iran, henna, Lawsonia inermis in Latin, is believed to have been introduced to Egypt during the Third Dynasty, some 3,000 years ago. Its uses are numerous, in cosmetics, therapeutics, and dermatology. In India, henna is considered lucky. The darker the red in a bride's palm, the more beloved she will be. A dot on the forehead is a talisman. The delicate design by Laurence Bourthoumieux (who sometimes signs her work Toutsy), whose artistic inspiration is often influenced by Asian and Eastern cultures, is enhanced by the fineness and transparency of the silk chiffon. A sublime gift for a bride-to-be. Excellent condition. Never worn. Very rare and sought after. In its Hermès box.

Dimensions: approximately 90cm x 90cm (36" x 36") - 100% silk - Made in France - Authentic pre-owned Hermès scarf
