Created by Caty Latham, the Hermès scarf Neige d’Antan (Snows of Yesteryear) was first issued in 1989 (it was reissued in 2002). Today the design is sought after for the gentleness of its theme, the finesse of its drawing and its delightfully nostalgic atmosphere.

The composition evokes the winters of old: sleigh rides, skaters, snow scenes, holly leaves, mistletoe and delicate snowflakes. At the centre of the scarf, a small medallion titled Neige d’Antan sums up the spirit of the design: a poetic, joyful and refined winter, between childhood memories and old-time festivities.

This version has a particularly luminous palette, combining golden yellow, green, coral, cream, brown and touches of pale blue. The contrast between the yellow ground and the winter motifs gives the scarf a soft, warm and very elegant presence.
